Another list filled with some amazing stuff, and the usual

dreadful junk to add a counterbalance for all tastes, just in

time for Christmas. Be sure to print out a dozen copies of this

list and leave them about the house (in conspicuous places) with

the stuff you want clearly circled so your favorite gift giver

can make yours the merriest ever.

If you have questions about what the Stanley numbers are, you can

look the planes up on Blood&Gore:

         http://www.supertool.com/stanleybg/stan0.htm

If there is anything in particular that you're after, do ping

me as there is a lot of stuff here that isn't on the list; the

list just represents a snapshot of the previous month's haul with

none of the stuff having appeared on a previous list.

Please email me prior to sending money so that you can be sure

the tool is still up for grabs. Also, prices do not include shipping,

which is the exact amount that it takes to go from me to you.

This list goes out to many people on the first Monday of the month.

So, if you see something you want, it's the quickest finger on the

trigger that wins the duel.

Also, due to the nature of selling over the wires, tools are sold

on a first come, first serve basis. The first person to say "I'll

take it", gets it. I have to operate this way as some will take a

few days to get back to me with their interest in a particular item,

and it's unfair to keep others waiting who are willing to buy immed-

iately.

I reserve the right to correct typographical errors, after the

list goes out. I rarely make them, but when I do, they can be

major ones.

If you’re the kind of person who puts a straightedge to the sole

of a #40, to check for flatness, or who tosses a plane on a scale

to weigh it against what it states in the Stanley catalogues, you’ll

need to take your business elsewhere. I’ll wish you luck finding

perfection in something that was never made, nor intended to be,

perfect. You guys know who you are, and it’s best for both of us

that our paths don’t cross.

Lastly, and I hate to have to mention this, but if you tell me

that money is on the way for something you want, and you never make

good on it, we won’t be doing business in the future. It’s unfair,

actually downright discourteous, to others who want the same thing,

and I tell them it’s sold. Pull this on me, and you’re exorcised

from the list. Sorry, but I don’t tolerate this behavior well at

all.

Don't forget the cool new tools that I'm making - a jazzy layout

knife being used by professionals (made cover of Feb '98 FWW!); a

detachable block plane handle designed to fit your 20 degree

block planes, and the finest bench plane in production today, the

Bed Rock #601. You can see all this at:

  http://www.supertool.com/newtools.htm

Finally, remember that you don't have to be a connoisseur (did

I spell that correctly?) to shop here. You can be a wirehead, a

metalhead, a zipperhead, a propellerhead, a deadhead, a cokehead,

or even a knuckle-dragging oaf, just like me, to shop here, as

long as your dinero is green.

Thanks for shopping, and remember, no letters/words were injured

when writing this list...

  FEATURED TOOL OF THE MONTH

  ******** **** ** *** *****

FT1  The tool model wanted this magnificent pair of Carter

skewed miter planes for Christmas, but I bribed him

to settle for one of each Lego set (except for the girl

stuff) offered in their catalog; an amazing pair, one

skewed left, the other right, this is the only publicly

available set of the three sets that Bill made (he has

one pair and a collector in London has the other); made

of gunmetal with select boxwood stuffing, the steel sole

is expertly dovetailed to the body; 8” long, and with

ultra fine mouths, these will work (if you choose)

as good as they look; there is no planemaker alive

who comes close to Bill’s work, he perfectly blends

precision work with an eye for beauty, something

that’s lost on nearly all contemporary makers; mere

words fail to capture just how exquisite these

       crown jewels of tooldom are:

  ST11 #94 large cabinetmaker’s rabbet plane; Stanley’s largest

of the #90 series, this one is 100% complete and damage

75% plating, making it a bargain worker; bottom:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t28.jpg           $290.00

ST12 #95 edge trimming block plane; a ca.1930 example with

all original parts, no damage, and 90% japanning, it’s

the perfect plane for squaring the edge to the face and

       for trimming endgrain; top left:

  ST13 #36 boxwood six inch two fold rule with sliding caliper;

from the 1920’s, with the sweetheart logo, and in much

nicer than usual condition; top left:

ST14 #1 smoothing plane; a great, never messed with example

from the 1920’s, with sweetheart logo on the iron and

“STANLEY” embossed nickel plated lever cap; no damage,

example that’s escaped the usual tool artistry that so

many have (especially on ebay); top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t32.jpg          $1755.00

ST15 #5 1/2 oversized jack plane, brand new in the original

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t39a.jpg          $165.00

ST16 Four Everlasting chisels; in fine working shape, with

some of the best chisels offered by anyone; widths of

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t41.jpg           $195.00

ST17 #10 1/2 smooth rabbet plane; in extra clean condition,

made in the UK ca.1960 with wooden knob and tote, it

only needs to be honed to be put back to work; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t43.jpg           $155.00

       right:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t45.jpg           $125.00

ST21 #81 cabinet scraper; being offered as a restoration

ST23 The best matching set of hollow and round bottoms in

existence, all with their original boxes that have

full labels, each looks never used; a couple boxes

       clean as them come:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t96.jpg          $1385.00

ST24 #212 small scraper; a never cleaned or messed with

example, with its original marked Stanley iron and

ST27 An unused #103 small adjustable block plane; from a

chest where the guy bought stuff, put his initials

on it (this one lightly scratched in the japanning),

and then put it away, it dates to the 1880’s; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t100.jpg          $45.00

ST28 Great type 1 #15 block plane (referred as the type 3

in the books as it follows the #9 1/2, but the 1”

       longer #15 appears a few years later than the #9 1/2);

with all original parts, 99% japanning, no damage,

used once and put away, owner lightly stamped his

initials in one cheek, that in no way detracts from

       this fine, and next to impossible to find, example;

       bottom:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t100.jpg          $235.00

ST29 #2 smoothing plane in the original box; an early

1930’s example in a box that has an earlier label

(Stanley used old labels as they uncovered them),

I don’t believe that this one was ever used, it

has its full label, no tape on the box, a separation

in the box’s bottom, just a hint of tarnish on the

plated lever cap prevents me from calling brand new:

        http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t101.jpg

        http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t101a.jpg          $755.00

separation on the top of the cover:

ST33 #444 dovetail plane in its original box; a fine

example, still with its original sample; used just

a few times, and with no damage, it has all original

parts (save for the screw driver), the box has some

scuffing on the top; a way above average example of

       Stanley’s most desirable contraption:

        http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t105.jpg

        http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t105a.jpg         $1685.00

ST34 An unheard of #55E combination plane with a full and

boxed set of the optional cutters; made for the UK

market, designated by the suffix “E”, the plane has

extra plating on it to withstand the damp UK environ-

ment; offered for a very short time, most guys went

with the standard model, making this one a real

rarity; in barely used shape, with no damage and all,

I mean all, original parts, the plane is made even

more extraordinary by the four sets of optional

cutters in their original boxes; other than some

expected wear to those, and some minor tarnish to

the cutters, this thing is in flawless shape, and

is ready to take its place in a major collection of

all things Stanley; the only way to collect Stanley

is to buy the best you can find and afford, here’s

an example that is in next to impossible to beat

       shape and rarity:

ST35 Early #75 small rabbet plane; this one dates to the

1880’s, is in little used shape with all original

parts and no damage, an owner stamped his initials

in the side; very handy for cleaning up rabbets,

and its small size suits it well for travel to the

       jobsite; bottom:

  WOOD PLANES

  **** ******

WP1  A rare and early large bead cluser by Shepley; this

veteran led a tough life from storage, not use as

there is some real insect damage at the toe, but it’s

definitely not Uncle Miltie’s Ant Farm certified; wedge

finial is gone, however the plane is not as it can still

be used; you wouldn’t kill a three-legged dog, and I

wouldn’t chuck this into Al, my wood boiler:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t1.jpg             $65.00

WP2  A good, damage free, wedge arm plough with interesting

       cutting a groove:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t6.jpg            $115.00

WP3  Kimberley’s Patent smoothing plane with the cast

insert; to overcome the flaw of split cheeks and

abutments (you buyers of new modern manufacture wood

planes take heed), this design uses a cast iron

insert that will never fail (unless you drop it on

concrete); in sound, little used shape, it won three

gold medals something no modern wooden planemaker has

accomplished; extra fine mouth, it’ll make a fine

       worker; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t7.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t7a.jpg           $175.00

WP4  Little used Jenkins&Clark 1 1/2" (width of cut) quirked

ogee and bevel of pleasing proportions; never altered

or abused, tiny chip at heel of boxing, owner’s stamp,

WP6  A superb James Panton Aberdeen offset tote sash coping

plane; in as brand new condition as a plane can be, it’s

a very rare form and is ready to compliment a collection

       of the best in wood:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t10.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t10a.jpg          $395.00

WP7  Pair of 5/8” match planes by Kimberly; a very uncommon

size, centering the groove on 5/8” stock, they are

ideal for working 1/2" to 3/4" thicknesses; as found,

no damage, little used, a quick cleaning will have

       them up and running:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t14.jpg            $85.00

WP8  IxCox 3/4" (depth of cut) bolection; a classic profile,

this pre-1800 plane is in overall fine shape having seen

a good amount of use; a small chip in the boxing at the

       heel, early owner’s initials, will make a fine worker;

Cox was a major exporter of plane into the Boston area:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t15.jpg           $115.00

  WP9  Mathieson 1/2" (depth of cut) quirked ogee and bevel;

WP10 Super clean H.Chapin Union Factory adjustable sash

plane with fully boxed square ovolo; used just a few

time and then put away, still with shavings in the

mouth, no owner’s stamps, it would be difficult to

       find a cleaner example of a ca.150 year old plane;

       right:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t16.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t16a.jpg          $115.00

WP11 Beautiful solid boxwood plough plane by Arrowmammet

Works of Middleton, CT; never altered, abused, or

clean, nice even patina, owner’s stamps, a few minor

WP12 John Bell/Phil cornice plane; a good original example

that cuts a 2 1/2" wide quirked ogee and bevel, it’s

as-found; no damage about the wedge, a couple no-harm

cracks in the boxing, a strip was applied to the

fence to increase its bearing surface; a nice one:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t20.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t20a.jpg          $135.00

WP13 Good cove and square ovolo molder; a very well made

plane, in mint shape, with no maker’s mark, the profile

is 1/2", the plane is originally for sashwork, but is

perfect as a cabinetwork profile; owner’s marks, will

       make a fine worker:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t21.jpg            $95.00

WP14 ca.1820 S.W.PIERCE unrecorded maker in barely used

condition; this one looks like something from VT,

the maker wasn’t too knowledgeable on the fine points

of planemaking as he didn’t box the quirk on this

1/2" deep quirked ovolo and bevel; a great early

hand cut maker’s mark, no owner’s marks, some dis-

coloration at the toe, it may have been used once

or twice and then was forgotten:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t22.jpg           $125.00

WP15 Extra clean and oddly boxed bolection; this 3/4" depth

of cut plane has lignum boxing along the fence, with a

brass plate screwed to the bottom; a very nicely made

plane, with no maker’s mark, it’s as clean as the day

it was made; has maker/owner marks, image fails to

capture just how nice this one is:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t31.jpg           $235.00

WP16 A magnificent matching pair of double iron molding planes

by J.Miller; both of the same profile, a torus bead,

cove, and bead, they are graduated in 7/8” and 5/8”

thicknesses; carefully used, with no owner’s stamps,

recently oiled, they are as nice a matched pair of

planes I’ve had in some time:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t35.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t35a.jpg          $455.00

       stains, it’s a standard size rabbet with a 1 1/4" wide

       iron; usual owner’s stamps; bottom:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t43.jpg           $195.00

WP18 Great Mathieson smoothing plane with puzzling solid

lignum sole cleverly applied to beech body; all original,

with Mathieson iron, it has absolutely no damage about

the wedge and no wear to the sole; a fine worker, with

a finer mouth, and the finest quality; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t44.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t44a.jpg          $285.00

with five original soles and matching irons; just

4 1/4" long, the body is a two-piece construction for

stability and is coffin-shaped, which contrasts nicely

with the rectangular soles; someone put a lot of effort

       into this one:

WP20 Rare, and in brand new condition, Mathieson miniature

router; made of beech, with a 1/4” wide iron, it’s

WP21 Killer nice fully adjustable panel raiser with nicker,

a most unusual feature for UK-made panel raisers; in

very little used shape, with no damage or alteration,

it’s by Varvill&Sons of York; double iron, extra fine

mouth, more time was spent stamping it with owner’s

marks than using it; the best UK panel raiser I’ve

ever offered, both width and depth can be adjusted

suiting this to all sorts or work:

WP24 Extremely rare, and likely unique, chamfer plane by

Cowell & Chapman; I’ve never seen anything like this

one, where a rectangular body is raised/lowered within

       a surrounding body, and secured in place by a wedge;

6” long, with owner’s mark (one at toe covers the

company’s location) and two small check in the body,

the iron is a replacement, which probably kept it in

       its little used condition; an experiment gone awry;

WP25 Fine solid mahogany smoothing plane with an E.Preston

2” wide iron; in an amazing state of preservation, with

showing some shallow scratches in the sole; usual owner

or maker’s marks, 8” long, a rich color to it; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t59.jpg           $155.00

WP26 Great double side rabbet made of an exotic wood that

I can’t identify, with a beautiful grain pattern; the

two wedges are jet black ebony, the plane has a steel

sole; perfect chamfers on the 6” long body, it’s a super

fine plane made by a very gifted craftsman, who stamped

his name in the endgrain; bottom:

WP27 A unique exotic wood plough plane that has large brass

thumb screws situated at the toe and heel to lock the

fence in position; a user-made plane of fine quality,

it represents the seemingly infinite ways of constructing

a tool whose simple task is to cut a groove; no damage,

lots of brass, nice grain (the wood looks to be some

       dalbergia), the wedge is lignum:

  WP28 Odd and early shorter ogee molding plane by I.H.Kirkland;

       8 1/4" long, not cut down, it’s a pre-1800 plane that

cuts a 1/2" deep Roman ogee; in fine shape, never

cleaned, with owner’s marks, including a very early one

of “IOHN BLACK”, the wedge has a glueable split below

the finial; a nice plane; top:

WP29 Very rare cock bead fillister by Cauldwall; in pristine

condition, dates pre-1800, never altered or abused,

and with owner’s stamp, the plane was used to cut a

narrow and deep rabbet along the perimeter of a drawer

front, after it was assembled, so that a beaded strip

could be applied around the drawer’s perimeter; this

strip stands proud of the drawer’s face to give it a

more pleasing appearance; formally, the bead was formed

integral to the piece’s carcase, which is much more

work, the applied bead started to take of during the

Hepplewhite period, and was done only on the higher

end furniture; you’ll go years before seeing another

plane like this, if you ever see another; bottom:

cove, and torus bead; this thing is like the day it

was made, with no owner stamps, clear maker’s mark,

no modification or damage, just dry surfaces; boxing

has no cracks, is loose, and needs to be glued back

in place, a trivial job; as nice as they come and

       in a most pleasing profile:

WP36 Extremely rare 1/8” dado plane by Mathieson; fully

boxed sole, this one has the screwed stop, with the

nicker iron secured by a sideways wedge; other than

       plane; bottom:

WP37 Unusual extra complex, and done so over a very narrow

width, molder by Arthur; profile is 1/2" square, and

I couldn’t get a good image of it from the heel; it’s

an astragal, cove, astragal, and cove; flat chamfers

on the body, some long inactive worm holes, the wood

is in no way weakened, this one will make you seasick

       just looking at the ups and downs of its wavy profile;

early owner’s stamp, and a great size for today’s

       work:

  WP40 Different Routledge/Birmingham 1/2" by 1 1/4" quirked

pre-metallic wooden block planes look like, with their

single iron; free of damage, little used, dirty from

that normally looks hideous from use, this is a nice

       example; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t88.jpg            $55.00

WP44 A never used tote pair of 1/2” steel plated fence

match planes by H.Chapin; other than an owner stamping

initials in them, they are just like the day they were

made over 130 years ago; centers the groove on 1/2"

thick stock, and capable of 3/8” to 5/8” thick work,

the narrow match planes are difficult to find with

integral totes; relics of long ago and a testament to

how they used to offer them:

photographs of the rooms, furniture, design details,

and scaled architectural drawings, this is a superb

book of high style Federal design; many drool over

the stuff shown in Fine Woodworking and similar

magazines as the ultimate in craftsmanship without any

knowledge of what was done in the past; with this book

you’ll soon realize that most modern day ‘masters’ are

mere pretenders to the true greats in woodworking and

       design history:

stores in pre-WWI America, offering only the best quality

tools in the Boston store; a fine working example, fruit-

wood handles fold over the blade to protect the edge, and

your fingers; a solid worker, and couldn’t be made new

today for twice the price; bottom:

MI41 A magnificent, and mint, Mathieson 3pt rip saw; with

split nuts, this pre-1875 relic managed to make it

through its life unscathed, it has a perfect handle

without any owner’s marks; 28” long blade is stamped

       with the Mathieson name and Glasgow&Edinburgh locations;

other than some minor scuffs from storage, and a slight

tarnish to the steel, it’s exactly like it left the

factory, and is a testament to quality, craftsmanship,

       and survival; bottom:

the next four that are marked and are of identical

design and quality; with beech handles, there are some

nice shapes here, five of which are bent designs; widths

range from 1/4" to 7/8”; some have localized superficial

rust from sitting idle; left pile:

  MI47 Large S.J.Addis gouge; 1 1/4" width with mahogany

handle, and in fine worker shape; looks to be about a

       #8; right:

iron; a perfect go-with for the boxwood and beech

       model; top right:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t51.jpg           $135.00

stamped “BEST STEEL”; not your usual lock mortice

       chisel; bottom:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t54.jpg            $90.00

MI52 Unique #2 sized Scottish smoothing plane; a scaled

down version of the design, this one has a sole that’s

       7” long, and carries a 1 3/4" wide double iron that’s

pitched lower than usual; molded bun and toe, stuffed

with walnut, it has a most unique look; one stuffing

pin fell out, there’s some minor pitting along one

edge of the sole, and the back of the mouth has some

roughness, but none of this detracts from what’s a

       very nice little plane; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t55.jpg           $475.00

MI53 Book, “Making and Modifying Woodworking Tools” by

box; just like the Stanley design, with the thumb

screw at the butt to lock the blade in place, the

thing appears never to have been used; box has split

corners, one end flap gone, but is sound; some

blistering of the plating on the blade; right:

used); average 10” long; great quality; left:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t57.jpg           $165.00

  MI56 Seven barely used joiner’s mortice chisels by J.Buck;

laminated steel construction, each with original perfect

beech handles, no owner’s marks, as nice as set as I’ve

had, and in next to impossible to find condition; right:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t57.jpg           $390.00

MI57 A superb and massive panel plane; the casting on this

thing is 5/16” thick, an unheard of dimension, making

it one of the heaviest in existence; 12 1/2" long, and

meticulously shaped casting that’s stuffed with select

mahogany, it’s fit with a 2 1/2" wide Marples iron; as

found, never clean, free of damage, and a great feel in

the hand, this is the nicest user-made panel plane I’ve

seen, and words can’t do justice to it:

of Sheffield; an extra dense turned head (may be polished

lignum) with a turned boxwood handle that carries the

MI60 An extra complex and manufactured layout tool made of

brass with its original wooden box; made by S.A.Sears

of Cambridge (UK), it’s a roof gauge for figuring the

complex cuts of rafters; stamped with a patent number,

it’s a well made tool and looks to be complete; about

12” long, you’d have to have graduated summa cum laude

at Cambridge to figure out how to use this complex

       gizmo:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t63.jpg           $375.00

MI61 A most unusual Preston stringing router with an

attachment I’ve never seen before; looking like the

standard issue, but a very early model with the deep

green finish, it has an auxiliary ‘handle’ that fits

into the casting below the raised handle so that an

an extra fence can be added; in fine shape, with 3

original cutters, it represents the inventive genius

going on in the Birmingham tool laboratories that

were once Preston; the long rod doesn’t go with the

       tool, but was in the wooden box when I bought it;

very odd, and certainly extremely rare; top:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t66.jpg           $285.00

MI62 Brand new Preston nickel plated rabbet plane; 7/8”

wide, 8” long, it was used once then put away; in

       impossible to find condition; bottom:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t66.jpg           $475.00

  MI63 Beautiful veneer saw in a user made mahogany sleeve;

a manufactured tool by a French firm (can’t quite make

       the mark out), the molded handle is made of cormier;

in perfect shape, the saw is 20” long, has two sets

of teeth, and was used to cut accurately sheets of

veneer by the best Ébéniste’s; the French mean a lot

of things to different people, but there’s no doubt

that the made the most graphic tools, and this one

       is no exception:

MI65 Pair of unique mahogany winding sticks with pegs to keep

the pair together; a lighter colored wood runs the length

of each, they are 17” long; the ends have a tabbed recess

for splitting them apart; a very clever design, it’s a

wonder all aren’t made this way; bottom:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t68.jpg            $95.00

MI66 An important brass plated try and miter square with

with boxwood handle by Melhuish; in never cleaned

shape, with a good amount of original finish, no

owner’s mark, and delicate Cupid’s bow detail on the

brass plating; 12” long blade has superficial rust

that will clean, I can’t recall ever seeing such a

square with boxwood for the handle; top:

MI71 Brand new copy of Patented Transitional & Metallic

Planes in America, vol.II by Roger Smith; out of print,

never been read, and a great reference to many of the

‘better mousetraps’ that only manage to snare the

inventor’s and manufacturer’s hard earned money; right:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t71.jpg            $90.00

MI72 Good brass frame eggbeater drill with rosewood knob and

grip that’s accented with ivory; 12” long, in cleaned

shape with no pitting; laminated steel construction,

       from the mid-1800’s, 3 3/4” wide edge, nearly 12”

       long, it’s a Sheffield-made item with a maker’s mark

that I can’t read; not your usual blah adze; right:

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t73.jpg

         http://www.supertool.com/forsale/t73a.jpg          $175.00

delicate thing, just 6 3/4" long, it’s never been

MI79 Best Darling’s Patent adjustable brace I’ve seen, the

name, Bridgewater (MA) location, PATENTED, and a good

part of the date are clearly visible on the chuck; a

certified gizmo, and one of the most sought after

American patented braces, there are a series of holes

drilled into the frame into which the jaw’s arm is fit

to secure the bit; a stupid, and costly to make, idea,

this one has never been messed with, not was it used

much; one wonders how much opium Darling was smoking

when he came up with this one back in 1868; top:

(can’t get a hair in them), and never cleaned; a bit

of superficial rust from sitting idle, it’s 7 1/2"

       long with a 2 1/8” wide Ward&Payne parallel iron; a

box, the plane is based on the tried and true Stanley

model, but improves on that with a longer two-arm

fence, and a wooden grip at the toe; all original

parts, so use but with loads more life left in it,

it has more mass than the #78; left:

magazine, bound in a hardcover, there’s loads and loads

of useful stuff within, much of it dedicated to tool

MI96 Bound 1909 copies of the newspaper “WORK”; loads of

MI102 An unused Millers Falls 6” sweep with full ratchet

mechanism; like the day it left the factory, with

1911 patent date on chuck, full ratchet, extra

stout jaw springs, ball bearing head, and nicely

grained cocobolo, this thing couldn’t be made new

today for twice the cost; the same owner initials

stuff that was never used; top:

MI103 Barely used, and with original box, post-war Norris

A1 17 1/2” panel plane; never cleaned, never abused,

no pitting or rust, just honest wear to the ebonized

finish where the original owner gripped the plane,

it still has the original Norris slip of paper in

the box; the box is tatty, but structurally fine,

the plane wore through the end flaps from it sliding

around in it; a spectacular plane, and as nice as

        any I’ve offered:
