If you have questions about what the Stanley numbers are, you can
look the planes up on Blood&Gore:

https://supertool.com/stanleybg/stan0.htm

Sometimes, emails to/from me are vectored to some cyber black
hole, never reaching their destination. I answer all emails, so if
you haven't heard from me, your/my email is likely having high tea
in said black hole, never to be heard from, so please try again.

If there is anything in particular that you're after, do ping me
as there is a lot of stuff here that isn't on the list; the list
just represents a snapshot of the previous month's haul with none
of the stuff having appeared on a previous list. I like to keep
things fresh here.

Please email me prior to sending money so that you can be sure
the item is still up for grabs. Also, prices do not include shipping,
which is the amount that it takes to go from me to you via the US
Post Office.

This list goes out to many people, normally on the first Monday
of the month (unless otherwise noted above). So, if you see something
you want, it's the quickest finger on the trigger that wins the duel.

Some folks become upset that they miss out on a tool. I wish I had
lots of this stuff many times over so I can satisfy the demand, but
that is normally not the case. Some of it does have duplicates here,
and if so, I will state that in my reply to you.

Also, due to the nature of selling over the wires, tools are s#65old
on a first come, first serve basis. The first person to say "I'll
take it", gets it. I have to operate this way as some will take a
few days to get back to me with their interest in a particular item,
and it's unfair to keep others waiting who are willing to buy the
item immediately.

I reserve the right to correct typographical errors after the list
goes out. I rarely make them, but when I do they can be major ones.

If you're the kind of person who puts a straightedge to the sole of
a #40, to check it for flatness, or who tosses a plane on a scale to
weight it against what it states in the Stanley catalogs, you'll need
to take your business elsewhere. I'll wish you luck finding perfection
in something that was never made, nor intended to be, perfect. You guys
know who you are, and it's best for both of us that our paths not cross.

Lastly, and I don't like to mention this, but if you tell me that
money is on the way for something you want, and you never make good
on it, we won't be doing business in the future. It's unfair, actually
downright discourteous, to others who want the same thing, and I tell
them it's sold. Pull this on me, and you're exorcised from the list.
Sorry, but I don't tolerate this behavior well at all.

Don't forget the cool new tools that I'm making - a jazzy layout
knife being used by professionals (made the cover of Feb.1998 FWW!),
a detachable block plane handle designed to fit your standard pitch
block planes, a killer Robinson's Improved Patent sliding bevel, a
tilting jaw for your Emmert's vise, and the finest bench plane in
production today, the Bed Rock #601. You can see it all at:

Remember, you don't have to be a connoisseur (did I spell that
correctly) to shop here. You can be a wirehead, a metalhead, a zipper-
head, a propellerhead, a deadhead, a cokehead, or even a knuckle
dragging oaf, just like me, to shop here, as long as your dinero is
green.

Thanks for shopping, and remember that no letters or words were
injured when writing this list...

FEATURED TOOL OF THE MONTH
******** **** ** *** *****

FT1 ...and pulled out a thumb, and said "what a good plane
it be"; a fine, Norris No.31 thumb plane, cast of gunmetal
with applied steel sole, this one is 100% original, with
marked Norris iron, the lever cap is also stamped with
the Norris name and model number; mouth is original width,
a few knocks and dings from careful use, the plane was
very lightly cleaned; no owner marks, the strike button
isn't mashed; this plane was offered in various config-
urations, some with the bun, some without, this one has
the bun; to my eyes this configuration is plane perfection,
it's curvature, proportions, and construction are
reminiscent of a fine Italian sports car; plainly, vroom,
 vroom..........

japanning, all original parts, full length sweetheart
iron, and most of the decal on the tote; used sparingly,

this era and in this condition are difficult to find; top:

https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t5.jpg $130.00
ST10 #9 1/2 block plane; used once, then put back in the box,

https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t6.jpg $55.00
ST11 #1 bronze trammel points; the earlier Victorian castings,
with all original parts, they are a sound worker pair of
the smallest size offered; a later finish was applied,
they can be used as is or you can remove that with your
favorite flammable solvent; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t9.jpg $75.00 ST12 #54 adjustable mouth spoke shave; as found, with good
amount of original japanning, it'll clean to make a fine
worker; mouth can easily be set for fine or coarse work
simply by turning the screw on the yoke; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t9.jpg $35.00   ST13 #80 cabinet scraper; the easiest to use of all the scrapers,

https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t10.jpg $45.00
ST15 #S4 steel body smoothing plane; a much cleaner than usual
example, with all original parts, the decal is still on
the tote; from ca.1930, with sweetheart iron, no damage,
minor tarnish on the steel, minor mottling to the surface
on one side (pitting is too strong a word), it has the red
background on the "STANLEY" embossed lever cap, Stanley
for some unknown reason liked that color on this plane; a
nice worker for those prone to dropping planes on cement
floors or throwing them in fits of rage; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t13.jpg $95.00

https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t19.jpg $85.00
ST19 #45 combination in its original tin box; the best storage
box of all #45 planes, it can be stored assembled (on the
short arms) so that it won't rattle about; all original
parts, including the screw driver and instructions, the
plane is barely used, the long rods are still in their
original wrapper; from the 1920's, with sweetheart logo
stamped on the skate, it's in much nicer than usual con-
dition; exterior of the box shows scuffing and label loss,
that gladly took the wear and tear to keep the plane so
nice; a fine worker example;
top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t21.jpg $255.00
ST20 #77 doweling machine; free of damage, most original finish

joints on 3/4" to 1" thick stock; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t37.jpg $85.00
ST24 #604 1/2 Bed Rock oversize smoothing plane; a ca.1930

iron, 95%+ japanning, lightly cleaned, some very minor

wool will clean it; a solid worker; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t40.jpg $275.00

general purpose shave; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t46.jpg $30.00
ST29 #36 6" cast iron level with three original vials; embossed
with the 1896 patent date, it's a very early model of the
handy tool; most plating remains on the vial, japanning
is around 50%, it will look much better after a clean;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t46.jpg $35.00
ST30 Center tower for the #55 combination plane; the part that
if missing on many planes, it's in clean shape with most
plating; the small cast shoe is missing, that is rarely
used, the rest of this is mandatory for using the complex
cutters; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t50.jpg $60.00
ST31 Pristine #48 match plane in the original box; appears
unused, from the 1920's, with the sweetheart logo on the

bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t59.jpg $165.00
ST32 #5 1/2H oversize jack plane; a model destined for the UK
so it could compete with the heavy infill planes in favor
over there, it was met with miserable success as who in
their right mind would dump their fine infill for a lowly
(by comparison) Stanley; a sound example that's been
nicely cleaned, the japanning has been touched up; sweet-
heart iron is likely a replacement (easy enough to find
an earlier logo to swap), the tote is cracked and glued,
I'll put a proper good one on it; not an easy to find
plane in any condition, it's a respectable example to
fill that gaping hole in your collection; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t71.jpg $885.00
ST33 #8HR bottoms, and cutters, for the #45 plane; good and
solid examples, with most plating, they are ready to

pile:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t73.jpg $55.00
ST36 Same as previous, but 1" width; rightmost in chisel pile:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t73.jpg $55.00
ST37 #917 6" sweep brace with concealed ratchet; this is my
favorite Stanley high end brace, the ratchet is easily
set by turning a collar aligned with the center of
rotation; a solid worker, with no damage, usual cosmetic
wear, it can take your favorite Jennings and Irwin pattern
augers; good size for finer work; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t74.jpg $85.00
ST38 Type 3 #3 smoothing plane; as found, with all original
parts, tote was split and glued, this will clean to be a
much nicer looking than usual plane, it's the rarest type
of production, with its small frog secured on the cross
rib a la the Victor line; Stanley was taking interchange-
ability to its logical conclusion, the frog on this plane
is identical to those used on the large bench planes; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t75.jpg $275.00
ST39 #10 1/2 smooth rabbet plane; as found, dirty, in need of
a clean, no damage apart from the damaged tote, one off a
#3 will fit it fine; dates ca.1910, plenty of life left
in the iron; will make a perfect worker; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t75.jpg $115.00
ST40 #1 smoothing plane; a sound ca.1905 "B" casting with all
original parts, the lever cap has a bit of roughness along

sheared off; a respectable example, the japanning is 95%;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t75.jpg $875.00

worker; top right:

all original parts, as found, no damage, good color to

cricket-bat level; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t89.jpg $115.00
ST44 #65 spoke shave; Stanley's answer to the unlimited designs
to cut a chamfer, this one proved to be very popular in
the US and England; from the 1920's, with the sweetheart
logo on the iron, all original parts, no damage, as found,
90% japanning, it'll clean to look as good as it works;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t92.jpg $85.00
ST45 #131 double end block plane with adjuster; one of Stanley's
scarcer planes, it never rang up large sales, partially
due to its fragile adjustment design, this ca.1930 example
escaped the typical damage to the casting that allows the
adjuster to rotate toe to heel (or heel to toe) when
switching from bull nose to standard configuration; little
used, 95% japanning, exterior lightly cleaned, and in fine
worker condition; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t94.jpg $185.00
ST46 Pair of miniature thumb planes, the #100 and #101 models;
in sound worker shape, with all original parts, both the
more difficult to find earlier models, the #100 is very
nice with the V-logo on the iron, the #101 with the
elliptical logo; only in need of a honing to be put back
to work; bottom right pair:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t94.jpg $65.00
ST47 #289 skewed fillister; offered for restoration, this later
model, with the three lobe spurs (same as used on the #78)
is missing its stop (same as used on the #78) and fence
(you can use the one on your #78); in need of a clean, no

can swap parts with it when needed; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t96.jpg $90.00
ST48 #10 jack rabbet; a clean worker that was found with the
Spiers shoulder plane listed below, this ca.1900 example

ST49 #67 Universal spoke shave; a very useful and adaptable to
the job at hand tool, it can cut with its flat or round
soles; also capable of functioning as a rabbeting shave,
the rosewood handles can be configured at a right angle
to each other to cut left or right; from the 1920's, with
sweetheart logo, fresh out of the same chest as the pre-
vious tool, owner mark in the handle, ferrules are not
cracked, the fence is long gone, those due turn up from
time to time; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t107.jpg $85.00
ST50 #13 circular plane; Stanley's (and Bailey's) first effort
at a plane that can cut concave and convex work via its
adjustable steel sole, the plane proved quite popular;
capable of being set to cut regular and irregular curves,
this as found example is in need of a clean, has a Record
lever cap, the iron is a replacement (both can be had from
a common #3); a more affordable price than the #113 which
ultimately replaced this model; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t110.jpg $55.00
ST51 #98/#99 side rabbet pair; earlier models with patent date

fine miter boxes, it's what's used to secure 1/4" rods
so that the tool can be set up for repeatable cuts; in
fine worker shape, with no remaining plating, embossed
with the patent date, both original thumb screws; bottom
left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t116.jpg $45.00

ST56 #143 nickel plated plough patterned off the decorative
Miller's Patent; little used, no damage, 95+% nickel
plating, both nose sections, 8 original cutters (those
have tarnish), this is a much nicer than usual example,
it's missing the slitting cutter, that can be found
easily enough as it's identical to those on the #45, #55,
etc.; a difficult to find example in this condition and
this complete; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t123.jpg $665.00
ST57 #50 combination plough and beading plane; a clean and
complete example in the original box; a UK-made example

#9 1/2, but with a better and more comfortable lever cap,
this one is free of damage and with all original parts;
from the 1920's, with the sweetheart logo on the lever
cap and iron, all you need to do it hone and watch the
wood knuckle under its command; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t126.jpg $55.00
ST60 #65 low angle knuckle joint block plane; a plane that
should never be bought on that auction site as so many
have cracked beds, even seasoned sellers can miss those;
guaranteed to be free of that damage, this 1950's example
has all original parts, shop dust from being in a working
environment, it'll make a fine worker; Stanley's best low
angle block plane; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t127.jpg $80.00

 WOOD PLANES
**** ******

WP1 William Ward (New York) moving fillister; fully boxed
shoulder, screw stop, the nicker iron is secured with a
rosewood wedge that looks to be original; never abused,
very well made, lightly cleaned, the adjustable fence
controls the width of the rabbet; can cut in any grain
direction, the nicker scores the wood for crisp shoulders;
the best plane for cutting rabbets, the mouth has a minor
area of no harm roughness, this is a fine working example;
left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t14.jpg $155.00
WP2 Scarce steel plated special purpose rabbet with most
uncommon Boston maker of Brazer; a style of plane unique
to the Boston makers, Gardner&Murdock made most of them,
this is first I've seen by one of their competitors; a
very well made plane, the T-shape stock features a hollow
cut on either side of the stock so that it can cut deeper
into the face of the work, the end profile yields a very
graceful looking plane; no one is certain what the function
of the plane is, some believe it to be for carriagemaking,
it may, in fact, be the Boston version of a snipe bill,
where both functions are built into a single plane; in
as found condition, never altered or modified, 7 1/2"
long, owner initials, the end image doesn't capture the
symmetry of this fine plane; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t14.jpg https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t14a.jpg $185.00
WP3 1" skewed rabbet by Kennedy&Co/Hartford; a sound and never
abused as found example, with owner marks, and a handy
width; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t16.jpg $45.00
WP4 3/8" dado by H.Chapin/Union Factory; a clean worker, it's
the kind that has no depth stop as it's designed for use
when cutting the same depth dado over and over (an owner
tacked a stop on the shoulder for the time he didn't want
that depth); owner mark, never abuse, all it needs is a
honing, it'll make a perfect worker; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t16.jpg $65.00
WP5 Same as previous (came with previous) but scarcer 1/4"
width; in fine worker shape, a couple nail holes from when
a batten was attached; dado planes are some of the easiest
to use of all wooden planes, you'll be amazed when you
pull crossgrain shavings from the wood; bottom right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t16.jpg $75.00
WP6 3/4" (depth of cut) Randall&Cook/Albany bolection; cuts the
two commonly adjacent profiles of an astragal and a cove,
together they form a pleasing profile that has nearly
unlimited use; in sound shape, dark patina, crack in the
boxing well behind the mouth, it'll make a fine worker:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t17.jpg $115.00
WP7 Unused Sargent&Co. (Sandusky) 1/2" match plane; how this
one managed to sit around for 100 years and never taste
wood is a mystery, you can be the first to give this one
a ride to cut the common tongue and groove joint centered
on 1/2" thick stock; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t20.jpg $95.00
WP8  C.Nurse bull nose block plane; a very well made 4 1/2" long
plane that's designed to work into corners or similar ob-
structions, the iron is mounted bevel up; brass plate forms
the nose and makes a tight mouth; no damage about the wedge,
lightly used, it'll make a fine worker; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t24.jpg $110.00
WP8 Carved jointer; a decorative throat, with pricked designs
around that, the sides are molded for gripping; 23" long,
European, free of worm, wide mouth (insert there), it's
probably better off as a display piece, though you can
use it as is; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t25.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t25a.jpg $95.00
WP9 Great toted screw arm plough plane with matching set of
irons; made by Marples Hibernia works, this plane was used
once and then put away; the best condition plough I've had
since I can't remember when, all you need to do is hone
the cutters and start grooving the wood and your soul as
you push this along; as nice as they come:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t26.jpg $385.00
WP10 Custom 3/16" dado with steel skate; a nicely made plane
by some unknown craftsman, the narrow cut requires some-
thing more rugged than wood to make it work well; 7 3/4"
long, as found, showing expected wear from use, the
finial has some banging, two wood screws are inserted
upward into the body, that likely was done long ago to
arrest a check; will make a fine worker, 3/16" is not a
common width to find in such a plane; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t28.jpg $115.00
WP11 Fully boxed shouldering (or dovetail) plane by Mellville;
in nicer than usual shape, many of these are owner made,
manufactured examples are far less common; nicker scores
the grain prior to cutting; in sound shape, boxing a bit
loose behind the cutter, owner mark, 7 1/2" long; bottom
right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t28.jpg $115.00
WP12 S.Presbrey 1" Grecian cove and astragal; a rather scarce
Massachusetts maker ca.1800, it's in solid condition for
its age; a few knock and dings, early owner mark, all
original:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t36.jpg $145.00
WP13 Clean Malloch/Perth adjustable panel raiser; the typical
Scottish style, the size of a smoothing plane, the fence
is adjustable to set the width of cut; never altered or
abused, dirty from sitting idle, it has good elevation
to the cut; cuts 1" to 1 3/4" width; owner marks; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t37.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t37a.jpg $175.00
WP14 Four clean beads by Preston (E.P. marking, two don't have
it, but retailer's mark, they were all made by Preston);
about as new condition as they can be, with owner mark,
diameters of 1/8" (slipped so stop can be removed to work
it deeper into the wood), 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2"; other
than some minor bang marks on the heels, they show very
little sign of use; great sizes for cabinetwork:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t39.jpg $165.00
WP15 #2 hollow and round planes by Griffith/Norwich; the
narrowest of the standard even number half-set, they saw
limited use, with no alteration, the hollow has some
roughness on the sole along one edge well back from the
mouth; owner marks, always together; top two:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t41.jpg $95.00
WP16 Small double bolection with steeper pitched iron for working
hardwoods; an astragal with opposing cove, it's a profile
similar to mushing two bolections together; manufactured,
but with no maker's mark, there is a shim applied over the
stop; width of cut is 5/8", the outer cove may have had a
bit shaved off long ago; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t41.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t41a.jpg $125.00
WP17 Late 18th century jointer with single Newbould iron; 28"
long beech stock has wide flat chamfers, a strike button
toward the toe for backing the iron off; closed tote,
wedge looks to be original and not pared, never re-fit
for a double iron; as found, dry finish, some checks, a
few larger chips at the toe, mouth is as fine as the day
it was made, it's a solid plane for use and is in remarkable
condition give its 220+ years of existence; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t43.jpg $90.00
WP18 Lindsey toted rabbet with two nickers; for heavy work, it's
sorta like the wooden plane version of the #10 1/4, the
original applied tote is offset so that knuckles can keep
their blood supply intact; 18" long, 2" wide iron, as found,
in sound worker shape, tip of tote has a chip on one side;
owner marks, there's a lot of plane for the money with this
one; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t43.jpg $65.00
WP19 Pair of new Ohio Tool Co. No.5 (3/4" radius, they are a
#10 in UK-ese) hollow and round planes; used once, and then
put away; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t52.jpg $90.00
WP20 1/2" (depth of cut) Roman ogee by Ohio Tool; little used,
dirty from sitting idle, it'll clean to make a fine worker
of the classic profile that can be used anywhere; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t52.jpg $60.00
WP21 Odd Preston (with EP logo) bead cluster; unlike the usual
arrangement, 6 1/8" diameter beads are arranged over a
slightly curved sole; a plane I never imagined Preston
would offer, the width of cut is 1"; as found, with dark
finish, the top of the stock and a portion of the wedge
have some roughness, that likely occurred within the tool
chest when a saw rubbed against it; no owner marks, it's
fair to say that this is the only Preston example you'll
ever see, you'll likely never seen another by any maker as
it's so odd:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t65.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t65a.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t65b.jpg $285.00
WP22 Good cove, quirked ogee, and bevel by Griffiths/Norwich;
a large profile, it cuts 1 1/8" deep by 1 5/8" wide; in
sound condition, nicely cleaned and waxed, owner mark,
a lot of plane with a good proportions:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t66.jpg $155.00
WP23 Good Thomas Okines complex molder; from a London bloke
what stopped working 1770, the 10" long plane is as found
and free of modification, it cuts a pleasing cove, ovolo,
and astragal that's 7/8" deep by 1 1/8" wide; loads of
layout lines on the toe, dark patina, no nail holes in
the profile, a couple on the bottom of the fence, owner
initials, one of which landed in the middle of the maker
mark, which at once is unfortunate but is also a blessing
as it proves it's a real plane and not a Woodbridge area
forgery; a nice example of early UK planemaking:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t67.jpg $185.00
WP24 Pair of miniature hollow planes (cut a round) configured
like parallel smoothers; shortest is 2 7/8", the sole is
7/8" wide, longest is 3 1/4", the sole is 1 1/8", its
sole is curved toe to heel; owner made and in sound, never
messed with condition; top right two:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t69.jpg $75.00
WP25 2 1/4" miniature hollow; owner made, in fine shape, with
his name stamped on the side; rabbet mouth gives it a nice
look, iron is 5/8" wide; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t70.jpg $55.00
WP26 Triple iron French complex molder; cuts an indescribably
1" deep by 1 3/4" wide profile, the plane saw very little
use; however, it was used either as an aperitif or digestif
(around a large meal) by worm, it's been treated and no
activity is present; wood is not compromised, the plane
has not been waxed (the usual treatment for planes munched
upon), it can be used or displayed; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t76.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t76a.jpg $155.00
WP27 The first of four dated 18th century planes that were
found together in Yorkshire, each has an early owner mark
of Thomas Moody; first one up is a John Green 1780 example
modified to cut a round; very dark patina, wedge has been
pared and sits low in its mortice; dry surface, no rot or
worm, you're buying a dated tool, not a worker; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80a.jpg $125.00
WP28 Next up is a narrow V-cut dated 1783; no maker's mark, the
Moody owner mark is present, but less readable than the
others; rabbet mouth, this one can be used; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80b.jpg $125.00
WP29 Next, the best of the lot, a bolection dated 1761 (I
suspect he meant to date it 1791, the "9" number was
hit upside down); stamped by he maker, Wood, the owner
mark is good and strong; cuts a 1/2" deep astragal and
cove (holection), there's a small heel chip in the
boxing; dark patina and dry finish; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80c.jpg $265.00
WP30 The last of the pile, a 1799 by John Green; a modified
molding plane, both the maker and owner stamps are as
clear as possible; dark patina and dry finish, each of
these planes is guaranteed to be dated during that time
and are not some modern effort hatched in a Suffolk tool
laboratory; bottom right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t80d.jpg $190.00
WP31 3/16" slipped bead retailed by Melhuish; barely used, and
perfect for all applications that call for a 1/8" or 1/4"
diameter bead, the eye cannot detect the 1/16" difference
with this one; stop can be removed so it can work deeper
into the wood, this is useful when used with hollows and
rounds; no owner mark, and in uncommon condition; top
left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t82.jpg $60.00
WP32 Same marking as pervious, a 3/8" square ovolo; barely used,
still with some shavings in the throat when last used, a
few nail holes along bottom edge of fence; in sound working
order; middle left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t82.jpg $55.00
WP33 Same as previous, but 1/4"; in fine worker shape, with same
nail holes in the bottom of the fence, it's a much less
common size than the previous; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t82.jpg $65.00
WP34 Pair of #1 HR planes by Gabriel (unsigned as they are too
narrow of the mark); the narrowest of all HR's, these saw
very little use, cabinet pitch, owner mark, and only in
need of a honing; top left pair:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t91.jpg $115.00
WP35 Pair of #3 HR planes by Gabriel (only one signed); came
with the previous pair, barely used, owner mark, cabinet
pitch, only need a honing; top right pair:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t91.jpg $95.00
WP36 Mathieson/Glasgow skewed bead, hollow, and bead, the style
of profile often used on the face of match boards; cuts a
7/8" wide profile of nice proportions, the plane is as
found, with dry surface, two screw holes on the side (from
when a fence was added), some roughness in the boxing at
the toe, no owner marks, a coating of oil will do wonders
on this uncommon plane; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t91.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t91a.jpg $135.00
WP37 Clean Marples adjustable fence rabbet with non-skewed
iron; technically as moving fillister, this is more like
a standard 1 3/8" rabbet with a fence on the sole (it's
original); still with most of the decal present, and an
uncommon form, it will serve most of your general rabbet
needs, for 0" to 1 3/8" (with the fence removed); top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t92.jpg $80.00
WP38 Most unusual special purpose plane with lots of metal and
adjusting nuts on it; owner made, with steel plated sole,
there's a slitting cutter ahead of a scraping iron, it's
obvious that whatever it cut/scraped, the shaving is
supposed to rise and follow the 'throat' behind the
scraping blade; looks to be three different width slitting
cutters, only one projects through the sole; 14" long, good
mass, its real use may never be known, it's certainly known
that it's a weird thing; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t93.jpg $295.00
WP39 Olivewood 8 1/2" horn smoothing plane with decorative
inlay; a fair bit of work was put into this nice plane,
the wedge and body are rabbeted along the edges to give
it a sleeker look, the body tapers toward the toe and
heel over a rectangular sole; simple sunburst inlay pattern
on the top, behind the slender horn; not your usual horn
plane, a tag is attached with a bit of history about it;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t93.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t93a.jpg $135.00
WP40 Graduated set of three cove planes by C.Nurse; in fine
worker shape, always together, little used, each cuts a
hollow 1/4 section of a circle; 1/2", 5/8", and 3/4";
rare to find this profile in a matching set; left three:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t99.jpg $190.00
WP41 Odd Gleave/Manchester quirk router; a special purpose
tool, perhaps used to cut a groove for inlay, the 1/16"
(hair wider) cutter is position over a 3/8" wide rabbet,
which is run along the edge of work; barely used, not
some made-up thing, there's a depression for placing the
finger at the toe of the 5" long stock; barely used,
with owner mark; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t101.jpg $110.00
WP42 Pair of short badger (rabbet) planes by J.Lumsden, Dundee;
a left and right, each has a steel plane as a portion of
the sole; 6" long, no damage about the wedge, the rabbet
opening has the usual minor roughness, the planes are in
sound worker shape, being as found; owner marks on each,
they also each have two holes in the sole where a fence
was once added then removed; top two:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t109.jpg $165.00
WP43 Odd 1 1/4" wide molding, it cuts a small quarter round
(as the quirk), reverse ogee, and bead; no spring to the
plane, the profile is linear relative to the work, the
depth of cut is about 3/8" deep; well made, likely by a
professional planemaker, but with no maker's mark, it's
in sound condition, the wedge is a good replacement;
flat chamfers, owner mark:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t111.jpg $155.00
WP44 Good 3/4" (depth of cut) quirked ogee; perfect for today's
standard stock thickness, and with great proportions,
it's made by G.Davis and stamped with a Dublin retailer;
never altered or abused, as found, owner marks, a number
is marked in crayon on the side, that can easily be
removed:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t112.jpg $110.00

condition and a perfect size for cabinetwork, it has
unlimited applications:

WP46 Turner 3/16" fully boxed cockbead; used on the finest
cabinetwork, the profile is used on drawers (or the
surrounding carcase work) to give them a lighter appear-
ance; in fine shape, cabinet pitch for hardwoods, owner
mark, cleaned some time ago:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t114.jpg $95.00
WP47 3/8" match planes by D.Malloch/Perth with Dublin retailer

MI28 Gunmetal casting of a Bed Rock #606 fore plane; Lie-Nielsen
has nothing on this earlier effort that precedes the modern
output by some 75 years; a very well made plane, with loads
of mass, the main casting is gunmetal (or similar alloy),
the rest of the parts are Stanley made; a striking plane,
very well done, it'll make a fine worker, the extra mass
is an asset to planing; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t21.jpg $190.00
MI29 2" cutting hardy for an anvil; in fine shape, rusty from
sitting about, and good quality; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t22.jpg $25.00
MI30 Different fixed diameter (3/8") hollow auger; manufactured,
there may be a name under the grunge, it has two milled

do their thing; I can't recall seeing one like this before;
top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t22.jpg $35.00
MI31 Pair of earlier special purpose hammers, including one with

MI34 Smaller oil can; push button plunger to force the oil out,
I haven't tried it to see if that still works, though I
suspect it does as there is good resistance on it; 7 1/4"
long, few knocks and dings, the spout is its full length,
the chucklehead behind the camera (that might be me)
managed to frame the image incorrectly; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t24.jpg $40.00
MI35 Cast stuffed smoothing plane with mahogany stuffing that's
molded to either side of the tote; an odd plane, the casting
has pock marks in the sole, it appears its maker located
the holes for the lever cap screws incorrectly and then
filled them (one plug fell out); thick parallel iron forms
a fine mouth, the plane has good mass and balance; tip of
tote docked, this plane will make a fine worker as is, you
can put a bit of effort into it to tidy it and make it
look better; top right:

https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t24a.jpg $185.00
MI36 Goodell-Pratt or Millers Falls 8" sliding bevel; a rather
uncommon tool, it uses a brass nut to lock the blade in

make a fine quality bargain worker; bottom right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t24.jpg $20.00
MI37 Unused Record bench screw, still with original wrapper and
collar; a fine bit of kit, 18" long, 1 1/8" screw diameter,

price is twice the cost of the one should you want both;
 middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t25.jpg $95.00
MI38 D-8 10pt crosscut 20" panel saw; a fine little saw, with

woods; barely used, a rust patch that will clean, it's
not suitable for paint by numbers New England scenery;

in the casting, nearly all japanning remains, it saw little
use; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t29.jpg $55.00
MI43 Marples X4 smoothing plane; made ca.1970, this plane merged
the features of the Bailey design with those of an infill;
fully bedded iron, closed tote, lateral adjusting lever,
depth adjusting nut, mouth can be open or closed for coarse
or fine planing, this one did it all, but came too late in
the handtool world as that was all but dead when offered;
in sound and little used condition, most of the black finish
remains, it has a unique lever cap that snaps down toward
the mouth; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t30.jpg $185.00

impeccable pedigree; bottom:

members; handy for test fitting, gluing, planing, etc.,
they are as found, fully functional, with one notched to
accept a chain or twine; owner mark on thumb screws, he
drilled a small hole in each to accept a nail to offer

each side; 12" blade, stamped with the name along the
bottom edge of the brass, cleaned, and with owner stamp in
the top of the brass; set with a screw driver, very well
made, good mass, the firm had much better success with saws
than they did with this tool; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t32.jpg $145.00
MI48 Starrett 12" combination square with protractor and center
heads; a clean and sound worker, has original scribe, the
protractor has a level vial, some minor tarnish on the
hardened steel blade; in overall better than usual con-
dition, the square head's vial may be a replacement as
it's the greenish-yellow color; a solid worker; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t32.jpg $70.00
MI49 Folding brass drill index; a heavy and well made thing to
keep your twist drills sorted, it can open to form a tri-
angle by loosening the screws that hold it together;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t32.jpg $40.00
MI50 5" rosewood stuffed rabbet; probably cast, nicely done,

3 3/4" long, 1 1/8" wide iron; a great one for the finest
work; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t34.jpg $125.00
MI54 Starrett adjustable dividers with two removable steel
points (one a bit longer than the other); one of the most
versatile of all dividers, a pencil can be inserted into
either leg, it also can take the caliper legs that are
often found loose in a machinist's chest; in solid working
shape, cleaned, it has a fine adjustment nut; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t34.jpg $60.00
MI55 A generous pile (50+) of needle files; all sorts of shapes,
marked with a made in England stamping, and with a user

https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t38.jpg $65.00
MI57 Sorby 3/4" joiner's mortice chisel; a lethal weapon that
may have to be registered as such, it saw very little use,
it's free of any pitting; laminated steel construction,
handle has owner marks, there is a very shallow chip off
the heel of the handle, it hardly merits noting; 15 1/2"
long, the wood may report to your local anti-bullying
bureau when it sees this thing coming for it; second from
top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t38.jpg $75.00
MI58 Four bevel edge paring chisels with boxwood handles; older
Marples product, they are in sound worker shape, with
owner name etched on the top of each; widths of 1/4", 1/2",

great sizes for general work; bottom four:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t38.jpg $135.00
MI59 Uncommon Preston No.1394 adjustable quirk router with
two cutters; one of the strangest tools produced by
Preston, the comfortable grip is at a right angle to the
adjustable fence; vernier adjustment nut, free of damage,
japanning 75%, "PRESTONS PATENT" cast in the metal, this
one was a miserable flop in what was otherwise a great
product line by the Birmingham, England firm; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t40.jpg $490.00
MI60 Unused Millers Falls No.120B two-speed breast drill in
the original box; a fine quality tool for general boring,
it'll do faster work than your brace when rugged jobs
present themselves; box shows expected scuffing and wear
from keeping the tool save for some 75 years; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t42.jpg $70.00
MI61 Record No.05 1/2SS oversize jack plane; a fine quality
worker, with the clever Stay Set iron (a feature that
maintains the cap iron's position after you give the iron
a honing); all original parts, finish loss to the tote,
no damage, and priced less than a Stanley; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t42.jpg $90.00
MI62 New old stock, never fit with a handle, Collins fire axe;
most bright red finish remains, about 50% of the label is
present; 12" long, this is a best quality axe and is an
older one for the American market, the label is non habla
espanol (or whatever); top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t44.jpg $145.00
MI63 Sheffield beech spoke shave with 1 1/2" blade; for finer
work, it has extra long handles, an owner put a cast brass
piece on the sole for longer wear; 10" long, expected wear
from use, lots of life left to it, I can't read the maker's
mark; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t44.jpg $25.00
MI64 Polled gutter adze; perfect for chopping the bulk of waste
away on hollowed work, it's an earlier example that's as
found; looks to have laminated steel, it will benefit from
a clean and is guaranteed to be a fine worker; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t45.jpg $75.00
MI65 Cheney adze eye hammer; a tool for pounding and removing
nails, it has an adze edge for splitting/hacking/shaping
wood; far less common than the nail holding hammer, handle
looks to be original and is firmly attached, no chipping on
the face, it's eager to get back to work; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t47.jpg $45.00
MI66 Millers Falls adjustable angle boring extension; designed
to fit a common brace so that it can bore into corners or
against walls, this is a sound worker with most plating
on the chuck, japanning is 50%; a tool that isn't appreciated
until you need it; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t47.jpg $25.00
MI67 Patented brass handle try square; my brain hasn't yet
thawed from the cold winter, an ice jam prevents me from
remembering exactly who patented this thing (McKenzie, I
think); the brass handle has Cupid's bow cutouts; right
out of a tool chest, in need of a clean, owner stamped his
name in the brass; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t47.jpg $25.00
MI68 Fine quality clapboard slick; a tool that can be used as a
general slick, it offers finer control with the shorter
blade, D-shape handle, and lighter weight so that butting
clapboards can be shaved to form a scarf joint, which aides
keeping the joint dry; fine lines, in great condition,
23" overall length, it's one of the better ones I've seen
in some time, it's far less common than the standard style
slick; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t48.jpg $135.00
MI69 Kimball&Son 9" (edge length) drawknife; a highly sought
after maker, those who know the Kimball quality are eager
to own examples of their output; an earlier product, with
the name stamped in to the steel rather than etched, it's
as found (in NH, where it was made), free of damage, and
will soon be your favorite drawknife of all; please keep
its quality a secret as once the word gets out, it will
be impossible to buy one; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t48.jpg $55.00
MI70 Forged double end scribe; the two points at right angle to
each other, with a decorative twist that actually serves
as a grip; 7 1/2" long, and in fine worker shape; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t48.jpg $25.00
MI71 Longer PEXTO folding handle drawknife; the 10" edge is
centered over the 18" long tool, it's designed for more
rugged work; little used, as found, with superficial rust
that will quickly clean, most original red finish remains
on the folding wood handles, those help to protect the
cutting edge when not in use; best quality, it'll make a
perfect worker; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t49.jpg $65.00
MI72 Taylor's Patent iron brace; one of the most successful
American brace designs, patented 1836, its simplicity
made it very popular with American woodworkers as it
can securely hold the standard bits popular manufactured
for decades around its manufacture; a simple lever catches
the bit (center, nosing, shell, etc.) and holds it firmly
until the lever is pressed again; 8" sweep, later japanned
finish, there's some stamping at the chuck, the japanning
makes it unreadable; in fine worker shape, this was the
Spofford of its day, it's still a very useful brace for
those who like using the old style bits; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t49.jpg $40.00
MI73 Millers Falls No.42 coping saw; an early model with the
patent date stamped in the frame; rosewood handle, most
plating remains, there are some corrosion spots to that;
all original parts, free of modification, you supply the
blade; a rather uncommon tool, the demand far outstrips
the supply, I haven't had one of these for several years;
the early bird gets the worm here; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t49.jpg $85.00
MI74 Larger adjustable washer/disk cutter; can cut up to 8"
diameter, it can cut a disk with one cutter or a washer
with two cutters; fits a common brace, it's in sound worker
condition; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t50.jpg $25.00
MI75 Different 1894 patent nutcracker; one I haven't seen before
(and I'm nuts about a lot of things), it has two positions
for cracking your nuts, large and small; most plating
remains, the patent date is stamped in the frame, 5" long;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t50.jpg $45.00
MI76 Beefy mallet for timber framing and similar heavy work; in
fine, barely used condition, the 7" long round head has
a depression worked in both faces, this is likely an idea
to assist centering the chisel handle and prevent chipping
of the head and handle; dirty from sitting idle, this is
not some cheap modern thing, I suspect it's pre-WWI; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t51.jpg $45.00
MI77 Crazy patented bar clamp; perhaps conceived after eating
the wrong mushrooms, its stoner, er, I mean inventor was
so proud of it that he embossed his name and patent date
on it; titled the Shaw's Self Locking Clamp, of Boston, MA,
it was patented 1885; rather than try to get into the head
of its inventor (for fear of losing my mind completely),
I'll let the image speak to its awkward mechanism; as
found, and likely unused since 1886, I see no breaks or
damage, it is rusted, but the stuff moves; it's said you
can never have enough clamps, but having just one of these
would land most folks in a padded cell, straightjacket
firmly strapped; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t51.jpg $85.00
MI78 J.Davis/Cohoes (NY) adze; perhaps new old stock, it doesn't
show any real signs of use; 4" edge, some superficial rust
blooms, ready to be fit onto a handle; a fine quality tool;
top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t42.jpg $55.00
MI79 Irwin augers in the remnants of the original plastic roll;
a bargain worker set for those who want to restore these
to their original glory, they are dirty/rusty, but not
DOA; your elbow grease will be rewarded; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t54.jpg $45.00
MI80 Uncommon slender 18" fully brass bound Stratton Bros.
rosewood level; 18" levels by any maker are uncommon, those
by Stratton especially so when of the 12" and under con-
figuration; both vials are original, the level has no
finish, and is as found, a wipe of the dirt and application
of wax will make the lovely grain go three dimensional;
Stratton Bros. made the best levels in the world, they
are still popular all over the world; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t54.jpg $190.00
MI81 Clean protractor head for your Starrett combination square;
in fine shape, pre-WWII, with level vial, it's in nearly
new condition; top left:

MI82 Centering head for the same; dusty from sitting about, in
sound worker shape; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t55.jpg $15.00
MI83 New old stock fawn's foot hatchet handle with full bright
red label and wood and metal wedges; from ca.1950, it is
the Crescent by O.R.Link Handle Co. of Salem, Indiana;
ideal for fitting in that prized hatchet of yours, the
grain is perfectly aligned with the handle, which is next
to impossible to find on the new pieces of junk offered
today; 14" long; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t55.jpg $15.00
MI84 Sargent&Co. saw vise; the cleanest one I've seen, with
nearly every bit of japanning, this is a very sound design
with the ball and socket joint that allows the jaws to
rotate 360 degrees and pivot front to back all of which
customizes the saw's position to suit you; ready to use;
top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t56.jpg $65.00
MI85 Good axe with original short handle; a general purpose
axe for shaping wood, it's right out of an estate 25 miles
from me where it resided for the past 125+ years; dirty, as
found, 8" cutting edge, maker's mark is partially readable
under the grime, this will clean to make a fine worker;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t56.jpg $75.00
MI86 Millers Falls No.4 cast iron eggbeater drill; barely used,
still with the wooden tube that has a couple points, the
tattered remnants of the original box are present; a very
popular drill; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t57.jpg $55.00
MI87 Mint, never unfolded, still with original red band, No.
1380 two-foot, four-fold boxwood rule by Rabone; a wider
than standard rule, at 1 5/8", this is a quality rule that
will serve all needs, a rule like this couldn't be made
new today for twice the cost; bottom left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t57.jpg $50.00
MI88 Book, "Making and Modifying Woodworking Tools" by James
Kingshott; long out of print, in fine shape, a book that
inspired countless people to try their hand at making
tools, where will it take you; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t57.jpg $55.00
MI89 Unused set of Swedish bevel edge paring chisels made in the
manner of E.A.Berg; in the original box, they are K/B
Broderna Wallin, which, as far as I know, made it as lyrics
in any ABBA song; with handles identical to Bergs, each has
the brand's label on it, a portion of which reads "The Best
by Far" (they wouldn't have printed that if not true); only
one shows some storage tarnish, the widths are 1/4", 5/16",
3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 15/16", and 1 1/4"; I suspect the
1/16" ones were made by someone who just came back from
the Saab plant, where everything was metric; it's my belief
these are as good as Bergs, were made in Eskiltuna, and only
exported to England (where I got them) and Spain; guaranteed
to be the best Swedish steel:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t58.jpg $495.00
MI90 Different eggbeater drill with large brass gear and brass
accents on an otherwise iron frame; an earlier effort as
the chuck screw is square; wooden grips on frame and crank,
it works smoothly; well made, nicely cleaned, 14 1/2" long;
top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t59.jpg $145.00
MI91 Three fine brass keys mounted on a board; fresh from a
locksmith shutting his doors in Wales (next to England, not
Massachusetts), these decorative keys are from an upscale
hotel, one has Queen Victoria's marking on it, another
is etched "Pavilion Terrace"; finest quality from a time
stuff like this was used to open doors and not a plastic
magnetized card; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t60.jpg $135.00
MI92 A Bramah lock and key made by the successor to the London
firm, Needs&Co.; made by a genius from Yorkshire, he
received many patents (my favorite, a beer pump) and is
considered the father of hydraulic engineering, he tried
his hand at locks and received his patent in 1794; so good
was his design, it was on display in his shop with a reward
for anyone who could pick it; the challenge stood for 67
years until a Yank (of course) managed to pick it after 51
hours of work over 16 days; fully working, with its original
key, the story behind its inventor is the stuff of legend;
this one dates to ca.1901; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t60.jpg $145.00
MI93 Good brass miniature anvil; nice detail, including the
mottled side to give it a hammered look; 4 3/4" along the
top, never polished or abused, expected bank marks on the
flat surface, it has a pre-WWII look to it; bottom right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t60.jpg $55.00
MI94 Odd special purpose hammer with nicely shaped ebonized
handle; the cylindrical head is 2 1/4" long, its diameter
tapers toward the middle; 9 1/4" long, and in sound as
found condition; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t61.jpg $110.00
MI95 12" boxwood rule and level by H.Rolfe&Co. of London; a mark
I can't recall seeing on such a tool, it's in fine shape,
with original green color vial; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t61.jpg $95.00
MI96 Rosewood handle cross peen hammer; a nicely made example,
as found and free of damage, 11 1/2" long, rosewood was
not commonly used on such hammers; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t61.jpg $115.00
MI97 Strange pressed steel thumb plane with wood stuffing that
makes for a pleasing appearance; normally, pressed steel
used for a plane results in a toxic thing, this earlier
effort is contrary to that with the turned knob and
grip; found in England, likely ca.WWI manufacture, 4 1/4"
long, with grime and rust from sitting, the exterior has
about 75% japanning; too nice to throw at rabid animals,
it'll make a fine addition to an advanced collection of
miniature planes, I find it pleasing enough to photograph
adjacent to Preston instrumentmaker planes; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t62.jpg $135.00
MI98 Large Preston toothing plane; all original, as found,
never messed with, iron needs a clean, slight curved sole
in both directions, 2 1/4" long; finest quality, this is
a good example of Preston's finest output; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t62.jpg $590.00
MI99 The mate to the previous, but 1 1/2" long; found with the
previous and in the same condition; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t62.jpg $535.00
MI100 It seems no list is complete without a tin/can opener,
this month's is a clean and detailed cow; not the usual
blah late casting, this one has finer shape and detail,
most of the original japanning is present; many firms
made these, including Preston, there is no maker's mark

2 1/2" long head, some minor bang marks on the faces;
bottom right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t115.jpg $95.00
MI180 Jorgensen clamp advertising display; the bright orange
base is printed with the Jorgensen info, a small Pony
C-clamp is attached to the base; in fine shape, 2 1/2"
tall, and most uncommon; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t116.jpg $85.00
MI181 Brass circular oil can; with original cap attached to a
chain, as found, never polished, 5 1/2" long; bottom
right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t116.jpg $40.00
MI182 Joiner's cast iron stuffed mallet; fit with wooden faces,
this is the classic UK mallet for driving mating members
together; loads of mass, the hardwood piece (that forms
the faces) was replaced some time ago, the tool is
designed for that as the handle slips through that piece
securing it all together; 14" long, you can also use it
to whack mortice chisels; not an easy tool to find as most
either got beat to death or turned into Spitfires; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t117.jpg $115.00
MI183 Cross peen hammer with standard hammer face; I can't
recall the pattern name of this popular hammer, it's
similar to the Warrington, but with the peen along the
bottom edge of the forging; in sound shape, probably
from the 1970's, with some surface grunge from sitting
around; made in England; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t117.jpg $30.00
MI184 Ebony and brass adjustable mortice gauge; often called
the ultimatum, it's a fine quality tool that has the
same look and feel as the famous brace; a solid worker,
with plenty of life to the points, its head and point
are set with a screw driver; cleaned, owner marks in the
ebony, its mass wants to keep it on the material and not
skip along it; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t117.jpg $65.00
MI185 The remnants of an Ultimatum brace; a trade example, not
by Marples, I'd like to say I found this used to chock a
lorry in the hard shoulder along the M1 as I drove from
London to the north, but that isn't the case as I can't
remember where exactly in England I did find it; in need
of new wood, the chuck works fine, all hardware is present;
here's your chance to fit it with the wood of your choice
and then play Basil Buff Daddy (he appeared briefly in
Fawlty Towers when the Germans had a stay) and polish it
into oblivion; not terminal, there is a working example
awaiting your restoration; top left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t118.jpg $65.00
MI186 Crown Tool flush cutting saw with rotating offset handle;
in sound, little used condition, some minor tarnish,
rosewood handle; top right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t118.jpg $20.00
MI187 Straight handle (turned) dovetail/cutoff saw; I don't
believe this a Crown product, it looks a bit older; little
used, blade is 8" long; bottom:

a fine example; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t119.jpg $110.00
MI189 Odd Mossberg brace-like tool that resembles a nail puller;
no doubt meant for automotive use, as that was the focus
of the company's output, it's the first of its kind I've
come across; looks to be complete, as found, with expected
surfaces from being a garage for decades, the grip is
stamped with the Mossberg name and Attlboro, MA location;
could be the Holy Grail of Mossberg tools for all I know;
bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t119.jpg $145.00
MI190 Unusual brass back dovetail saw with inlaid brass deco-
ration on the open handle; similar to the work done on
a plated Sheffield brace, the brass work is done on both
sides of the handle as decoration and to strengthen it;
looks original to me, and is the first of its kind I've
seen, the saw is by R.Mather&Son of Sheffield; split nut
screws, the 10" blade has been sharpened recently, it's
a quality saw; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t120.jpg $265.00
MI191 Uncommon Sargent No.7 Shaw's Patent #2-size smoothing
plane; Sargent's better answer to the Bed Rock design,
the frog can be adjusted forward/backward without having
to remove the iron; nicely cleaned condition, a small
flake off the forward part of the mouth, tote was split
and re-glued, iron is Sargent but not marked "No.7",
it's a decent example of one of the least common #2 size
planes; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t121.jpg $365.00
MI192 Starrett No.59-F complete trammel set in the original
box; barely used, this is a tool designed for all sorts
of work as a trammel, caliper, divider, and for refer-
encing off hollows; patternmakers loved this tool, and
it'll find unlimited use in your shop; price a new set
for real sticker shock and lower quality; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t122.jpg $135.00
MI193 Rare post-war dovetailed steel Norris A5 smoothing plane;
made for a month or two, very few have surfaced, this one
has mahogany stuffing; in fine shape, cleaned some time
ago, a protective coating has been applied, that can be
easily be removed; original Norris iron, no pitting,
owner marks in bun; a must have for those who are ticking
all the Norris boxes; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t122.jpg $985.00
MI194 Swan adjustable hollow auger; stamped with the company
name and patent date, this complex tool has a self-
regulating complex mechanism to set the diameter by
turning the collar and then locking its position by
turning another collar; in sound worker shape, no damage,
the depth stop is missing, as is normally the case; loads
of mass and an engineering marvel; right:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t123.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t123a.jpg $85.00

your quart jar of gherkins you put up decades ago, this
one has never been used; made of cast iron, and embossed
with patent applied for info, you may be able to use it
on stubborn oil filters or convert it to a mole trap; top:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t125.jpg $25.00
MI196 Uncommon E.S.&Co. combination trammels and brass plated
rule; a finely made tool that can serve all sorts of needs,
it can be used as a common rule, and inside measure, a
trammel, it also has the next to impossible shrinkage rule
graduations on one leg, another leg has board scales; the
shorter length model of 20", it's in fine, as found shape,
never cleaned or abused, the trammels have been polished,
they are original ones off another rule, the trammels are
next to impossible to find; middle:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t125.jpg $275.00
MI197 Another rare rule, this one commemorates Admiral Dewey's
naval victory at Manila during the Spanish-American War;
with nearly an entire flotilla embossed on the 12" walnut
rule, it's also embossed "THE DEWEY RULE" over "MAY FIRST
1898", the date of the battle; in fine shape, it saw about
the same amount of use as the Spanish guns did during the
six hour rout; it's the first of its kind I've seen and is
ready for a collection of military commemoratives, rules,
or decorative objects; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t125.jpg
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t125a.jpg $190.00

no markings, the darker color handle looks to be boxwood,
13" long, no pitting, a fine worker example; bottom:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t126.jpg $35.00
MI200 Shepherd Tool Co. dovetailed thumb plane; made by a
Canadian firm that went belly-up about as soon as it
stared ca.2003, this may be the example you paid for, but
never received; brass body, steel sole, mahogany wedge
and tall bun, stamped with the company's name on the bridge,
it was carefully used, the sole has been partially lapped;
fine mouth, here's your chance to get what you ordered
long ago, they aren't making anymore of them as they
took the "take off, hoser" thing a bit literally; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t127.jpg $265.00
MI201 7" sweep Spofford brace; an uncommon sweep, this one is
in sound worker shape, showing expected knocks and dings,
the original pewter bands still secure the grip well; a
brace for nearly all bits; left:
https://supertool.com/forsale/jun/t128.jpg $110.00
MI202 Davis Level & Tool Co. 6" mantle clock inclinometer; so
named due to the resemblance with the popular timepiece
(that appeared much later than the level's production),
this one is frozen in time, nearly in the same condition
as it was when it left Springfield, MA; 95% original
japanning, bluing still remains on the pointer; original
vial, never polished, no owner marks, no chips on the
base, the brass has the perfect patina that only time
can produce; top right:
